Tocqueville Society Events
Tocqueville Society EventsThe United Way Tocqueville Society was founded more than 20 years ago to deepen the understanding, commitment and support of United Way’s most generous and community-minded contributors. Membership in the Society is granted to individuals who contribute at least $10,000 annually to United Way of the Capital Region (UWCR). Each year the Tocqueville Society holds networking events both individually and jointly with other UWCR leadership groups.
Humanitarian Award EventUnited Way of the Capital Region's Tocqueville Society annually presents the Humanitarian Award, which honors individuals who provide outstanding voluntary service to the community. Drs. Domingo and Veneranda Alvear of Silver Spring Township were recently honored with the 2012 Humanitarian Award from United Way of the Capital Region’s (UWCR) Tocqueville Society. Domingo, chief of pediatric surgery for PinnacleHealth and Veneranda, an anesthesiologist with Riverside Anesthesia Associates Ltd., have woven their talents, intuition and compassion together to create a legacy of serving those in need, frequently the most vulnerable children and babies in our community and impoverished communities around the world. For more information on their outstanding contributions to our community and abroad, view the 2012 Humanitarian Award Press Release. |
