How We LIVE UNITED

In 2012 and early 2013, the Bridges Society partnered with Downey and Ben Franklin Elementary Schools, both part of the Harrisburg School District, to help improve students’ literacy skills and interest in reading by collecting books to replenish classroom libraries. Another part of this effort included a field trip to Barnes & Noble where members read with students, completed scavenger hunts and helped each student select a book to take home.

In April of 2013, members participated in UWCR’s Annual Youth Day of Caring by partnering with 150 local high school students on beautification projects throughout the City of Harrisburg.

  • In late 2012, the Bridges Society launched its breakfast series, which provides an opportunity for Bridges members to meet prominent business leaders in our community.
