Training and Technical Assistance

trainingAs part of UWCR’s efforts to provide our donors with real results from the programs we support, we offer training to health and human service agencies on how to measure the success of their services.

Outcome measurement, the concept used by private funders, state and federal governments, and others, is used to produce clear evidence of the benefits health and human service programs provide.

UWCR has been at the forefront of our community’s effort to train non-profits in this arena. UWCR’s qualified, experienced trainers provide a series of three half-day trainings that teach a practical approach to documenting results. These training sessions, offered at a nominal cost, include all materials and refreshments. The series is designed to provide participants with the conceptual framework, tools and expertise to successfully measure program results.

The training series offers something for everyone. Designed for busy program staff that often have difficulty getting away from the office for a full day, each session includes a step-by-step approach that allows non-profits to develop practical ways to measure program outcomes and use their results. A session on benchmarking gives program providers and funders a starting point for measuring results, with consideration given to factors presented by clients, as well as the types of service provided. Real-life examples of non-profits that have implemented these techniques are highlighted throughout the training.
