Conversations with Women Who Make a Difference
The Women’s Leadership Network (WLN) of United Way of the Capital Region held its second Conversations with Women Who Make a Difference event on October 31, 2007. WLN members enjoyed lunch at the Hilton in Harrisburg and learned how Major General Jessica Wright is making a difference in her community.
Major General Wright currently serves as the 50th Adjutant General of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the first woman to serve in this position. She was initially appointed to this position by Governor Rendell in March of 2004, and is currently serving her second term under the Governor.
WLN and the Girls Scouts to Hold Career Expo
The Women’s Leadership Network (WLN) of United Way of the Capital Region and the Girl Scouts in the Heart of PA will host a career day on March 29, 2008. The event, titled Career Scene Investigation (CSI), will be held on the HACC campus. The day will begin at 9 a.m. and includes workshops about college and careers, information tables, and a career fair where girls can learn how to pursue specific careers.
2008-2009 WLN Sponsorships Available
The Women’s Leadership Network (WLN) of United Way of the Capital Region has sponsorships available for the upcoming year (April 1, 2008 through March 31, 2009).
Sponsorships are available at two levels: WLN Gold ($5,000), which includes your logo on all publicity mailings, logo displayed at all major WLN events, spotlight recognition in the WLN E-Newsletter and at a networking event, and a host of other benefits; and WLN Silver ($2,000), which includes your company name on all publicity mailing and at all major events, recognition in the WLN E-Newsletter, and other advantages.
