Women's Leadership Network
United Way of the Capital Region’s (UWCR) Women’s Leadership Network is an alliance of dynamic women who are changing our community through philanthropy and volunteerism.
Connect WLN helps women connect with issues right here in our hometown. Issues such as safe and secure housing for our neighbors and friends. During the spring and summer of 2009, WLN members joined Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build Project to construct a new home in Harrisburg for a deserving family.
Collaborate Through WLN, women can collaborate with community partners to make a difference. Over the past two years, WLN members partnered with Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania to hold a career exploration day to help area Girl Scouts learn more about future careers. Through projects like this, WLN members share their professional experiences and help young girls become tomorrow’s leaders.
Change Your Community WLN members change our community by directing financial power to the greatest needs. In 2010, 577 WLN members contributed more than $874,000 to UWCR to make a difference in our community. From concerns facing seniors to the future of area kids, WLN members help make the Capital Region a better place to call home.
Please join us in making a difference.
