For more than 60 years, organized Labor and United Way of the Capital Region (UWCR) have worked together to improve the quality of life in eastern Cumberland, Dauphin and Perry counties. Our movement has a rich history and heritage: union members have served our community in times of natural disaster, financial hardship, illness, unemployment or other difficulties. Additionally, community service workers and volunteers have provided direct assistance and support to such local organizations as UWCR, Salvation Army, Central PA Food Bank and other program partners. For more information about local Labor services, contact John Q. Waters, Jr., vice president, labor participation, AFL-CIO community services liaison, UWCR at 717.732.0700, or e-mail jwaters@uwcr.org.
