Women’s Leadership Network (WLN) is a powerful network of women leaders who invest in United Way of the Capital Region (UWCR), educate women about the importance of philanthropy, and engage women in leadership activities. WLN is a great way to commit your time and talent to United Way, strengthening our community and changing lives—right in our own backyards. WLN can help women assume leadership roles within our community and make personal connections with others who are also interested in making our community a better place to live, work, and raise families. This leadership organization provides educational and networking opportunities and engages women to leverage resources and respond to our community’s growing needs. We have the ability to be leaders of social change. Historically, women have made significant philanthropic contributions—building hospitals and schools, caring for the homeless, and feeding the hungry. Now, more than ever, women are able to make a difference in the Capital Region because we are filling so many roles in the working world, at home and in the community. Today, women make up more than half of all UWCR donors, but our gifts account for only 35 percent of all dollars raised. So many United Way interests touch the lives of women and their loved ones in our community. That’s why we started the Women’s Leadership Network. Please join us in making a difference.
