Annual Allocations: United Way of the Capital Region (UWCR) funds programs that address pressing community needs. Funding decisions are made by citizen-review panels that look at a variety of information, including the need for such services; the results or outcomes achieved; and, the need for funding. Agency Executive Forum: Several times a year, UWCR meets with the executives of agencies that receive our funding to discuss current issues. These meetings promote a stronger partnership between United Way and local health and human service agencies. Future meeting dates and locations are: TBD All meetings begin at 8:30 AM Community Investment Facts: UWCR provides funding to address the immediate and emerging needs of our community in five key areas: emergency food and shelter, disease and disabilities, children and youth, caring for families and seniors and building a stronger and safer community. UWCR can show how we are making a measurable difference in our community. Frank Grady Outstanding Professional Award: Each year, UWCR recognizes an outstanding professional employed at an agency receiving UWCR funding. The prestigious Frank Grady Outstanding Professional Award is given for performance that is unique and outstanding in four areas: commitment, leadership, creativity and accomplishment.
