Stuff the Bus
United Way “Stuff the Bus” Was Huge Success
United Way of the Capital Region once again transformed its annual Day of Caring into a Stuff the Bus event to collect school and health supplies for local children.
On Friday, September 10 community members dropped off supplies at one of four collection sites in Cumberland, Dauphin and Perry counties. More than 21,600 items were collected and $1,000 in cash and gift cards were also donated.
The supplies were delivered to school districts participating in Ready for School, Ready to Succeed, a community initiative to help prepare children for kindergarten. School districts include Central Dauphin, Cumberland Valley, Greenwood, Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg Area, Newport, Steelton-Highspire, Susquehanna Township and West Perry.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success! Special thanks to our event sponsor Highmark Blue Shield.
