Stuff the Bus Was Huge Success

United Way “Stuff the Bus” Was Huge Success

Due to COVID-19, United Way of the Capital Region transformed its annual Day of Caring into a Stuff the Bus event to collect school and health supplies for local children.

On Friday, September 11 community members dropped of supplies at one of three collection sites in Cumberland and Dauphin counties. More than 155 companies and community organizations participated and filled TWO school buses.

The supplies were delivered to school districts participating in Ready for School, Ready to Succeed, a community pilot project to help prepare children for kindergarten. School districts include Cumberland Valley, Greenwood, Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg Area, Newport, Steelton-Highspire, Susquehanna Township and West Perry.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success! Special thanks to our event sponsor Highmark Blue Shield.
