How You Can Help Victims of Hurricane Harvey

Over the past several days, there has been an outpouring of support for victims of Hurricane Harvey. We’ve heard from many people asking how they can contribute to helping with immediate needs and supporting mid- to long-term recovery efforts.

To make a contribution to support the immediate needs of this devastating natural disaster, visit the American Red Cross at

In response to the widespread destruction from Hurricane Harvey, United Way Worldwide has established the United Way Harvey Recovery Fund, a national fund to support storm-related needs and long-term recovery efforts throughout the affected regions. 100 percent of individual donations given to the United Way Harvey Recovery Fund will be distributed to 23 local United Ways in the affected areas to meet the needs of local individuals and families. You can support this work at For more information about the Fund, view the United Way Harvey Recovery Fund Fact Sheet.

United Way has a history of serving as the cornerstone for long-term recovery after natural disasters including Hurricane Katrina. United Way is laying the ground work for mid- and long-term recovery in the areas affected by Hurricane Harvey, which is expected to take several years.

Thank you for helping the victims of this tragic natural disaster.
