Meet United Way Hand-Raiser Jodi Griffis
What was the game-changer that spurred Jodi Griffis’ involvement with United Way of the Capital Region? When she realized that she and her children had actually benefitted from the programs and services that United Way supports.
Jodi struggled for a time when her children were young and relied on support from various community organizations. Now she feels a sense of responsibility and pride that she is able to give back to the community that helped her.
Jodi also includes her daughter in any volunteer opportunity she can to teach her about giving selflessly to others when you are able to help. Jodi said she truly feels honored every time she volunteers. She especially enjoys volunteer opportunities and initiatives focused on education and children, such as packing healthy after-school snack bags.
