Volunteers and Students Have a DINO-Mite Day at the Whitaker Center

UNITED FOR SCIENCE IS DINO-RIFFIC!

On November 13 and 24, nearly 100 volunteers from United Way of the Capital Region’s Bridges Society, Women’s Leadership Network and Tocqueville Society chaperoned more than 150 students from Foose and Newport elementary schools for field trips to the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts in Harrisburg.

UNITED FOR SCIENCE, powered by PNC, provided students an opportunity to experience the Science Center (featuring a dinosaur exhibit), the PNC Innovation Zone, and participate in a STEM activity making slime.

This event is one of the many meaningful opportunities United Way provides to its donors throughout the year. Many thanks to PNC for making this event possible as well as Penn National Insurance for providing free parking in their garage.

If you are not a member of Bridges Society, Women’s Leadership Network or Tocqueville Society and would like to learn more about our affinity groups, contact Rae Lynn Cox at [email protected].
