Youth Day of Caring
More Than 200 Local Teens Clean Up City Island for Youth Day of Caring
More than 200 local high school students recently volunteered as part of United Way of the Capital Region’s 19th Annual Youth Day of Caring.
Volunteers completed painting, clean-up and landscaping projects throughout Harrisburg City Island to prepare the park for the spring season.
Juniors and seniors from the following eight high schools participated: Bishop McDevitt, Camp Hill, Central Dauphin East, Middletown, Red Land, SciTech, Susquehanna Township and Trinity.
Members of our Bridges Society served as volunteer project leaders, chaperones, photographers and hospitality help. The Bridges Society connects a diverse group of leaders through giving and volunteering.
Youth Day of Caring is sponsored by Members 1st Federal Credit Union (Lead Sponsor), Harrisburg Kiwanis Youth Foundation (Supporting Sponsor) and Capital Blue Cross Connect (Lunch). Additional support is provided by Color & Culture, F&M Trust, River Wealth Advisors and SiteLogIQ.
