United Way Raises More Than $8.91 Million During 2024 Campaign
United Way of the Capital Region has raised $8,912,373 surpassing its goal of $8,650,000 to benefit the community. United Way made the announcement at its recent Celebration Reception held at the Willows at Ashcombe Mansion. The attendance was one of the largest in United Way’s history. M&T Bank served as the lead sponsor. Additional sponsors included Brown Plus, Capital Blue Cross, Delta Dental of Pennsylvania, JP Lilley, MITER Brands, PA Health & Wellness, UPMC Central PA and the Willows at Ashcombe Mansion.
“We are grateful for the outstanding generosity from local businesses and individuals,” said 2024 Campaign Chair Nora Habig, regional president of M&T Bank. “These resources will support United Way’s work to improve life in our community.”
United Way of the Capital Region empowers independence by focusing on four pillars: access to health care, basic needs, school readiness and workforce development. Its programs demonstrate tangible results of lives changed through its important work.
At the event, guests heard from a local mother who went from homelessness to college graduate thanks to the support of United Way. Guests also learned about how United Way will grow its programs in scope and size to serve more people in need over the next three years.
In addition, Habig acknowledged the outstanding support of the Pillar Society, which consists of organizations contributing $100,000 or more to United Way. This year, the Pillar Society makes up 47% of the entire campaign. See a full list of our Pillar Society members.
