Volunteers Needed to Help With Free Tax Prep

Volunteers Needed to Help with Money in Your Pocket Free Tax Prep Program

Volunteers are needed to offer free tax preparation to help working families receive the federal and state tax credits they are eligible for.

The service is offered through the Money in Your Pocket (MIYP) program, a community partnership led by United Way of the Capital Region that is committed to the economic stability of local families.

No previous experience is required and training is provided. Volunteers are also needed to serve as greeters (no tax preparing required for this position). Scheduling is flexible with daytime, evening and Saturday opportunities available from late January through mid-April 2024.

For those interested in learning more, several informational sessions will be held. Check out our MIYP Recruitment Flyer for more information, including a link to sign up for these sessions.

The Money in Your Pocket program is funded by the U.S. Department of Treasury, Internal Revenue Service, PNC Foundation and Truist Foundation.
