United Way Raises More Than $8.9 Million to Help Our Community

United Way of the Capital Region has raised $8,940,503 surpassing its goal of $8,931,798 to benefit the community. The announcement was made during our 100th Anniversary Community Celebration Event on May 4 at FNB Park on City Island.

“Our United Way has been helping move families forward for 100 years,” said 2021 Campaign Chair Jim Mooney, president and CEO of Enginuity LLC. “None of our work would be possible without resources. We are very grateful for the support of our community.”

The 100th Anniversary Community Celebration wrapped up United Way of the Capital Region’s year-long celebration of its century of service. Throughout the year, United Way engaged donors, volunteer, business, and community leaders in the transformational work of the organization. Five years ago, United Way refocused its work to make a greater impact on the most pressing needs facing our region. Today, the organization sees tangible results through its proven programs in access to health care, basic needs, school readiness and workforce development.

At the event, Timothy B. Fatzinger, United Way of the Capital Region president and CEO, acknowledged the outstanding support of the Pillar Society, which consists of organizations that contribute $100,000 or more in combined corporate and employee giving to United Way. This year, the Pillar Society makes up 51 percent of the entire campaign. View a list of our Pillar Society.
